"The combination of graphic and interior design is a result of the amalgamation of two separate design practices; Petra's furniture studio and Jason's graphic design business."
When Toronto based interior designer Petra de Mooy made the decision to move to Australia in 2004, it made more sense to join an already thriving practice rather than start over from scratch in a new city country.
Jason Porter, proprietor of Adelaide based graphic design firm studio threefiftyseven, had already spent several years building a successful studio with a strong client base — and saw a unique opportunity to diversify his own business by offering what was in many ways an extension of his graphic design services.
That was six years ago. Today studio threefiftyseven has a strong following, with clients based locally, interstate and overseas. The practice remains a small one, but takes advantage of a number of remote strategic allies.
"This model works really well, giving us a full spectrum of skill sets without the expense of retaining them all. We can adapt and respond quickly to client and project needs, with the promise of delivering the most appropriate solutions, not just the most convenient."
studio threefiftyseven's work has been recognised in numerous online and offline publications, most recently having being showcased in 'The Big Book of Green Design' and 'Open Doors', a "... celebration of the achievements and ideas of twenty six of Australia’s next generation of leading architects, interior designers and furniture designers."
